The firm was established in 1979 by founding partners John Atherton and Charles Godfrey with just a handful of staff. Since then it has become one of Doncaster’s largest law firms with 7 partners and over 120 staff.

We pride ourselves on always keeping clients well informed and up to date with proceedings either in person or by telephone, letter or email.

Our town centre location means that our offices are easily accessible and we welcome visits from new and existing clients.

Atherton Godfrey employs over 100 members of staff from support staff and trainees to fully qualified Solicitors and Legal Executives. We offer a friendly and supportive working environment and pride ourselves on the level of training and support we are able to offer our trainees.

 We have an established diversity policy in place and are committed to equality both in our recruitment process and in working environment as a whole.

We have a policy of recruiting up to two trainees a year. Recruitment is carried out a year in advance and applications are accepted from prospective trainees up to 31st July each year with a view to successful candidates commencing their training contract the following year.

 

Interviews for trainee positions are held in August and places will be offered later that month, usually before potential trainees commence their Legal Practice Course.
